Our Uncle, Sgt George Thornley - 1910 - 13th us calvery
Horses run deep in our family.
The Blanket Shop originally opened for business in New Hampshire in 1998. In 2021 after moving to Van Buren, I reopened The Blanket Shop.
I have over 20 years’ experience washing and repairing horse blankets and various other horse related items.
I sew with a new JUKI walking foot industrial sewing machine. We make every attempt to match hardware, material, and colors. In addition to repairs, we also offer alterations
such as closing fronts, adding D rings, or adding belly bands. We also offer custom heavy duty elastic leg straps.
The washing machine we use is an industrial washer / extractor.
We use detergent free, antibacterial, low suds blanket wash that is formulated exclusively for horse blankets. It maintains and restores colors, removes smells, and does not degrade factory applied waterproofing. Everything is air dried on racks.
Currently I am open weekends and weekdays by appointment. Evening appointments are also available.
If you have any questions, please call or text me (603)-520-6404.
